Here’s an overview of Liz’s treatment schedule as we know it:
Monday March 4 – Simulated Radiation Treatment. This will get her a chance to see how the treatments will go without actually receiving a dose of radiation.
Wednesday March 6 – Iron Infusion and meeting with medical oncologist and pharmacist to review chemotherapy medication
Monday March 11 – Combination Radiation/Chemotherapy treatment begins. This will consist of oral chemotherapy (in pill form) in the morning, 20ish minutes of radiation at some point during the day, then another dose of the oral chemotherapy at night. This will happen every day, Monday through Friday, for 28 treatment days. As of now the plan is to then take 2 weeks off to help her body heal, then begin 4-5 months of IV chemotherapy which will be administered once every 2 weeks. If anything changes I will post it here.
