Surgery is complete and I got a chance to speak to Dr. Narayanan. Everyone has told me since day 1 of this journey that he is the best, and he lived up to the hype. He removed the remaining tumor and surrounding tissue, successfully reattached the two ends, and ran some quick post-op tests to see if there was adequate blood flow (he tested a few other things that I can’t remember, but said she passed them all) and that she’s now in recovery.

He said that for this surgery, she is looking at the best case scenario – meaning no permanent ostomy bag! 😀

Still haven’t been back to see her but the amount of relief I feel is overwhelming.
