As Liz is settling into the rhythms of her chemo/radiation regimen, I haven’t found much to share. Liz continues to work, go to the gym (dialing back the intensity a bit), and be a great wife and mom. Nausea and fatigue have crept in at times, especially in the afternoon. I can definitely tell something is different because she actually allows herself to sit down and relax around 3:00-4:00 each day. It helps that life has slowed down and we are between kids’ sports seasons.
When Dr. Fisher (radiation oncologist) first told us about this treatment regimen, she said the first few weeks may run pretty smoothly, but the last few weeks it will get harder…and as life goes, things start to pick up again next week. Spring Break for the kids including a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge (we planned it before Liz’s diagnosis), Liz’s sister’s bridal shower in Illinois and wedding, and the kids starting up with spring sports (Jude – flag football, Dylan – soccer, Theo – baseball).
The love and support thus far have been life sustaining…for all of us.
